LETTER FROM THE PRINCIPAL

1

Dear WLCCMS Families,

I am Maricela “Marci” Williams, and I am excited to join Watts Learning Center Middle School as the principal for the 2023-24 school year! I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. I am a passionate Angelino educator who has served the Los Angeles area since 1996. I have a strong background in instruction and curriculum. All students can learn with quality instruction and a safe school environment. As a product of public education, I truly believe I can work with teachers and staff to provide students with a quality education at WLCCMS.

I attended Mount Saint Mary’s University in Los Angeles, California for most of my college career. I have an M.S. in Education and an M.A. in Educational Administration, and I am bilingual in English and Spanish.

While I am the principal at WLCCMS, student achievement will continue to be our focus. We will continue to attain quality instruction for all students by having our teachers work in professional learning communities (PLCs), using a cycle of continuous-improvement. To this end, teachers will work and learn collaboratively about the latest research in pedagogical practices. We will continue to strive for excellence and provide effective instruction to ensure all students reach their academic goals. We will establish a well-rounded approach to ensure that the whole child is served - with a sense of urgency.

Lastly, with a close partnership with parents, teachers, students, and the Board of Directors, I am confident we will have a very successful 2023-24 school year! Go, Falcons!

In service,

Mrs. Williams
